I thought the article raised some interesting points about the way our culture seems to drive us toward overconsumption. I found it much easier to cut down my consumption once I realized that 90% of the stuff out there is just garbage. :)

the WZ has become a single car family (inspired in no small way by the witness of the G-clan). It's one small step towards reduce our overall consumption. I've been walking and taking public transportation since J has to drive to work everyday. I am not sure but I think there was some guy in the bible that started a church by walking everywhere.... I guess I'm in good company. :)
It's really hard to resist the constant pressure to buy stuff. A while back we decided that all advertising is simply unique manifestations of the overarching 'buy stuff' campaign. Basically, they don't care what we buy as long as we continue to think that life's problems can be solved by the spending of money.
